Hello parents and students,
Today we studied how the organ systems are affected by disease and heredity. We also started a body system flip chart. Each of the systems needs to be named on the front side. Then on the flip side place the function of the system and a picture to represent the system. This will serve as a flash card study guide. Tomorrow we will be having a quiz over the body systems and their functions. Below is a list of the systems and their functions.
Muscular- used for movement
Reproductive- produces an offspring
Skeletal- protection and support
Respiratory- exchanges oxygen and carbon dioxide from the air
Cardiovascular- movement of blood through out the body
Lymphatic- returns leaked fluid back to the blood
Excretory- eliminates waste from the body
Endocrine- makes chemical messages which regulate the body
Digestive- breaks down food into nutrients
Integumentary- protective covering of the body
Nervous- controls the body by way of electrical messages
